Ciudad
Quesada is situated
on the Costa Blanca about 40 minutes' drive south of Alicante, close to
sandy beaches. This is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday
and an attractive location for golfers.
Sporting Facilities: Apart from the obvious attraction of the La
Marquesa Golf Course (and many other golf courses in the area),
there are plenty of sporting facilities to be enjoyed in this region.
Ciudad Quesada itself has its own Aqua Park, with slides and pools, offering
fun for all the family. For the more adventurous, the larger Aqua
Parks at Torrevieja and Benidorm are within easy reach. There are
tennis courts on site and bicycles for hire from one of the local shops.
This is also an excellent area for: horse riding, walking, birdwatching
& sailing; very popular with windsurfers who usually travel to the
Mar Menor. Coat yourself in
the mud from the shores here, which they say improves rheumatism and arthritis!
There is plenty to see and explore in this region, which boasts many fine
examples of Roman and Moorish architecture.

The
northern part of the Costa Blanca is attractively mountainous and there
are many fascinating villages perched on craggy mountaintops.
Alicante,
the province capital, is fascinating both by day and night. Promenade
with the Spanish along the splendid esplanade, or explore the castle and
museums. Shopping is second to none, with plenty of choice; eating
out is a delight. The palm groves of Elche
offer a cool haven in the heat of the day. The pretty mountain-top
village of Guardalest promises breathtaking
views. Try visiting Jijona and
watch Turron being made. This delicious hard nougat, made with honey
and local almonds is famous throughout Spain.
Enjoy a fabulous day out at Terra Mitica,
the Mediterranean's leading theme park and experience the mysteries of
ancient & legendary civilisations: You can find yourself in: Egypt,
Greece, Rome, Iberia & The Islands - all in the same day!
A good place to taste the local seafood is Sardine Alley in the lively
town of Torrevieja - get your souvenirs
at the night market here, where you will find a brilliant selection of
goods from local artists. The small town of Guardamar
has the most superb beach. Like other towns on the Costa Blanca,
the parades and firework displays in these towns at fiesta times can only
be described as spectacular.
